Happy Easter Everyone, What’s Next for Seed?

Well 2017 is well and truly flying along as the summer season is quickly approaching. Plans are under way for the forthcoming months as I prepare for two new events The Little Northern Contemporary Craft fair at Altrincham at the beginning of May and Saltaire Arts Trail May Bank Holiday weekend. I would love to see some familiar faces if you have chance to pop along and say hello.

Seed had a great year last year continuing to work with valued friends and customers as well as forming new relationships with galleries such as Oriel Davies, Artichoke Gallery, The Harley Gallery and Castle Lawson Designs. As I glance back at some of the highlights so far I must include my collaborating with the Tate Britain London back in 2015, producing a small range from the ‘Pebble’ collection to complement the Barbara Hepworth Exhibition was a fantastic opportunity to which I am very grateful. My newest collection ‘Composition’ has also been well received at events up and down the country and generating great feedback from my wholesale customers at ‘Craft’ in London both last year and January 2017. Items from both ranges are available on the website.
All my event applications are now posted so I think it may be a good opportunity to take a break for a few days with loved ones. Off to Palma for some sun, inspiration and a little sangria and tapas then it will be back to the bench peg to get ready for next month’s events.
There will be some minor changes to the website, updating ranges and prices over the next couple of months, apologise if this causes any unforeseen issues but please don’t hesitate in contacting me directly to deal with any queries as promptly as possible.
Well everyone enjoy your Easter break and I’ll be back soon. x

Barbara Hepworth Exhibition at The Tate Britain 24th Jun- 25th Oct

Tate Britain will open the first major Barbara Hepworth exhibition in London for almost fifty years. This internationally renowned artist contributed to many great sculpture collections of the world and has influenced artists and designers from all disciplines.

Seed-designs have been selected to complement this major exhibition selling a range of pieces from the Pebble collection in the Tate Shop. I cannot express my excitement as I have admired the work of this artist since I began my own creative journey.

When Tate first opened its doors to the public in 1897 it had just one site, displaying a small collection of British artworks. Today it has four housing the National Collection of British Art dating from 1500 to present day as well as International modern and contemporary collections. Its projects range from major developments to innovative research and conservation work making it a leading centre for research into the Visual Arts.
